FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: The possums are eating the bait but why aren't they getting zapped?
A: The trap is either not armed or the battery is flat. The fault light will be flashing if the battery is flat, recharge the battery. Read the instructions for arming the trap.
Q: Why are the possums not eating the bait or getting zapped?
A: Possums don't like to roam too far. It is likely that there are no possums in the particular area your trap is in. Either reposition the trap in an area where there is known possum activity (damage to new shoots, fruit, possum droppings on the ground etc.) or use Allens bait stations to encourage possums into area and get them used to eating bait. Then the possums will start climbing into the trap.
Q: What can I do when the trap door is not releasing?
A: Try pulling the solenoid back, the trap door will swing down and then should click back into place. Run the trap through a test cycle and the solenoid should click.
Q: My trap is catching rats and they are getting stuck in the trap. What can I do to make the trap door release?
A: Unfortunately, the trap door won't release because the rats aren't heavy enough. Try repositioning the trap to where there is known possum activity. Place bait stations in the area to get the possums used to eating the bait and they will run into the trap before the rats do.
