Electropar devotes 1600 square meters to its manufacturing plant.  As well as the Zap Trap, the plant currently manufactures a range that includes tubular busbar systems and aluminium and copper fittings for the power distribution industry, as well as the assembly of gear motors, drives and electrical control gear for industrial marine, defence and hazardous areas.

Merv Allen, a commercial possum trapper, approached Electropar and who agreed to design and manufacture the Zap Trap. It took nearly 18 months of prototype work to bring the Zap Trap to a marketable level.  Electropar now owns the patent and the trademark Zap Trap.
