Preformed Line Guards |
For Protecting Aluminium Conductors
Manufactured from aluminium alloy wire, Electropar's preformed lineguards may be regarded as a light duty version of the armour rod for protection of conductors against abrasion and arc-over. Line guards may also be used as patch rods to restore full conductance and strength to all AAC, ACSR and AAAC conductors where damage is outside the support area and does not exceed 25% of the outer strand layer.
For installation, the entire length of the line guard should be wrapped onto the conductor. Line guards provide the minimum level of protection for conductors used in spans where binder wire is used to tie the conductor to the insulator.
Line guards are supplied individually colour coded and labelled for easy identification. Popular sizes are listed in the table below. |
